DLLS 100
Specification
DLLS 100 was developed to replace laser thickness inspection used in glass tubing manufacturing and re-forming processes. Accurate to a few micrometers the system provides an area measurement and is easy to operate. DLLS 100 does not require precise positioning of the object being measured and can be utilized with a substantial standoff distance. It is not affected by the prism effect produced by undulations of the inner and outer surfaces. It provides a two dimensional map of the surface thickness as the object is rotated or moved past the sensor. It is very fast, providing millions of measurements per second. DLLS Technology is suitable for installation directly on a production line. It provides 360 degree continuous profile through the axis of tubing as it is manufactured. Immediate information is provided to control the manufacturing process. The sensitivity of the gauge can distinguish between thickness wall variations and index of refraction variations that are caused by cord or other anomalies. It can also determine whether the variations are on the outside or inside surface. DLLS Technology can provide area wall thickness measurements on any transparent flat or curved object. DLLS is suitable for gauging many products including glass containers, flat glass, bent glass, medical tubing and clear plastic materials. The high performance of DLLS is demonstrated in the gauging of glass container side walls which is particularly difficult because of outer surface roughness and inner surface non-uniformities due to rapidly changing undulations. DLLS is ideally suited for manufacturing because there is no loss of data due to high part speed, part movement or undulations of radial or circumferential surfaces. DLLS is a unique technology with patents pending.
